SELF-STUDY

During the time of the Self-Study, the program examines its policies and practices and may possibly adjust those policies and practices to comply with the standards. This process may take 6-15 months, depending on the changes that need to be made. It also gives the organization to become familiar with the standards, both generic and optional depending on the needs of the organization. As well, the organization can develop a work plan with the help of their CORE Support to address any of the following:

Develop or change policies and/or processes
Train staff and volunteers
Audit files and adapt internal processes
Ensure that Person Served are knowledgeable and involved

The CORE Support will also be able to help with clarification of the standards, as well as explaining the intent and the meaning of standards that an organization may have questions about. This time allows for an opportunity for an organization to review and fully prepare for the accreditation. If there are areas that may be causing struggles, we also have documents that can be purchased and training that can be taken. This includes:

Documents and Samples
Orientation To Accreditation
Training Modules
Reviewer Training
Team Leader Training
EMP First Aid Training

We are always here to help any organization at any point in the accreditation process, and you can feel free to Contact Us whenever you have questions. We are always happy to help you in your pursuit in excellence.

During this time we will also be putting together your Accreditation Team, made up of individuals from the human services field who will be matched to suit your program and needs.
