PRE-SITE REVIEW OF POLICY

3 months before the on-site review, the organization undergoing the process will be responsible for sending their pre-site materials, including policy and procedures, narrative and supporting documents to the review team and CORE Support staff. The team will then take the next month to review the materials, and approximately 2 months before the on-site the pre-site review will take place.

The purpose of the pre-site meeting is to:

Review program policies, narratives, and supporting documents
Ensure that the program policies and practices are compliant to the standards
Identify gaps in policy, practice and/or areas of concern
Provide direction and support to address issues or identified gaps
Plan for the on-site review

CAC is the only accrediting body that provides a pre-site review to organizations in order to help make all parts of the process transparent and ensure that everyone involved is aware of the goals of both the us and the organization. This practical run-through of the material also serves another purpose - with the program's representatives in attendance at the pre-site, the team can ensure that they fully understand the practice of the program, get any clarification they need ahead of time, have discussions about how any non-compliant pieces found can be addressed before the on-site, and affirm what support is available from both CAC and the team as well. This will also be the first introduction to the full review team, and the organization will be able to feel comfortable with the team they have. This is one of the many Value Added Benefits that we share with every organization undergoing accreditation with us.

When the pre-site has concluded, a copy of the Pre-Site Report that has been prepared from the pre-site will be sent to the organization, and the final arrangements will be made for the upcoming on-site review.
