GAP ANALYSIS

Gap Analysis can help you get to the other side of Accreditaiton Successfully!

For some organizations, the process of accreditation can leave you wondering where to begin. As well, some organizations don't have access to a person dedicated to getting their organization ready for accreditation. For organizations who need it, we have a new service that will soon become available. We will now be offering Gap Analysis.

WHAT IS GAP ANALYSIS?

Gap Analysis is an evaluation of the evidence base that supports your practices. One of our CORE Support staff will go to your site and spend up to two days performing a brief evaluation of your evidence based practices based on the information provided. They will walk through your facility and view the On-Site Observations, take a look at your Policy and Procedure Manual, and view your Files and Documents.

The CORE Support staff will evaluate the information they see based on our Standards and Tools, and when the analysis is completed, will provide you with a report detailing the positive aspects of your practices as well as identify any gaps that were found. This report will give you a breakdown of the areas that need to be addressed before the pre-site and will also provide you with an opportunity to ask the CORE Support staff any questions you may have about your upcoming
review and what you can expect. Once the Gap Analysis is complete, you are left with a targeted list of areas to work on as well as areas in which you excel, which will provide you with a road map for the successful completion of your accreditation.

WHO CAN REQUEST A GAP ANALYSIS?

Any organization undergoing accreditation can purchase this service, from the time they apply to six months before the on-site. Having the Gap Analysis completed at least 6 months before the on-site ensures that you will have enough time to make any necessary changes to your program and display a Pattern of Practice in the area.

WHAT IF MORE SUPPORT IS NEEDED?

Gap analysis is designed to act as a complementary tool to your accreditation, supplying you with areas we have found that may need more work. If you require further assistance to create your policy and procedure, files and documents, or help with the implementation of your changes in practice, we can provide you with a list of individuals who can provide you with further assistance.

WHAT IS THE COST OF A GAP ANALYSIS?

The cost of a Gap Analysis is $1800 plus applicable taxes and travel expenses. This fee covers:

A CORE Support Staff present on-site for up to 2 days
A review of your On-Site Observations, Policy and Procedure Manual, Files and Documents
An exit interview detailing the results of the Gap Analysis
A report with the results of the Gap Analysis to be used by the organization, provided within 10 days of the conclusion of the review

Please be advised: Having a Gap Analysis performed on your program does not guarantee the accreditation status of your program when the on-site is conducted. The report that is created for the Gap Analysis will not be taken into account during the on-site or the accreditation panel. As the evaluation is based on information provided by the organization, we cannot guarantee that all gaps will be found during the course of the Gap Analysis and the program is responsible for continuing to evaluate themselves during the course of the self-study period. The list of individuals provided by CAC for continued support are not part of CAC but are contractors that other organizations have used to support their process. The use of these individuals cannot guarantee a successful outcome but are a resource you may choose to utilize.
