BENEFITS OF BECOMING A REVIEWER

The Reviewers and Team Leads that are volunteers at CAC are the backbone for our organization. We would not be able to accredit programs without their knowledge, expertise and all the help that they are willing to provide for us. But being a reviewer is not only beneficial for CAC, there are also many benefits to being a reviewer for the organization that sends their staff to us.

Professional development Reviewers and Team Leaders are able to network with reviewers from other programs and in doing so they are able to gain exposure to different ways of approaching issues. They also gain insights into the Standards and how the accreditation program is implemented and they are able to get experience with different program's processes, tools and forms that may be adapted to suit their own program's needs

Reinforcement of excellence in practice Reviewers are able to see and be positively reinforced for the areas within which their practices are more developed than that of the program under review.

Helps with their own accreditation Reviewers will be able to understand how critically other reviewers will be assessing their programs when their accreditation arrives.

Organization compensation for Volunteer Support Over the years CAC has established a rich network of volunteers to support our structures and processes, which in turn allows us to remain competitive and pass on the savings to all of the organizations we accredit in terms of lower costs. In order to give back to the organizations that have been generous enough to supply their staff for this process, we have created a compensation program. If you are interested in learning more about it, please click here.

Reviewers and Team Leads are volunteer positions and do not receive honorariums, but all out-of-pocket expenses are covered by CAC.

If you are interested in becoming a Reviewer or a Team Lead, you can find more information in the Training Centre.
